Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ Q. Pictures of products are being added to the website. The picture displayed may not be the actual part that you order, therefore, what precautions should you take before you order? A. Presently over 59,000 products and we are adding matching product pictures daily. However, you should refer to the Catalogs provided on the catalog link. In some applications, such as batteries, the OEM product number (not the OEM number) must be ordered for the correct fitment. If you notice a picture that is incorrect, please advise us by email for correction. Working 12 hours a day on 1500 pictures leaves room for a few typo's! However, the pictures will make it easier for you to pick your products. However, please Email us or call support if you have ANY questions. Q: What are your shipping rates? A: V-Twin is our only supplier that charges a $10.00 'handling' fee on orders. We will reship all of these orders to save you the handling fee by shipping with our store order and shipping your order from Annapolis by the 3rd business day after placing your order. If you wish to ship a small order sooner, we will invoice you the handling fee amount prior to shipment. We are constantly reviewing surcharges and fluctuating FedEx or UPS ground rates. If there is a problem with a shipping rate, we will contact you and either adjust the rate or credit your payment back through PayPal. Shipments on other products come from different warehouses such as Florida on our helmets. For special shipping rates such as FedEx or UPS next day, call us and we will advise the current rate and instruct how to enter your order for special shipping requests. On international shipments, there is a shipping rate, a fuel surcharge, documentation fee, handling, packaging, and insurance. We are licensed exporters of motorcycle parts license #B376239. All orders must bed prepaid via Google Invoice or Bank Funds Transfer and shipped to port of entry customs in your country DDU (Duties and Dues unpaid) which are the responsibility of the buyer. Other fees may be imposed based upon the carrier and the destination country. If the USPS has a 'flat rate' overseas box that your order will hold, we will use this as the least expensive rate, however, there is no tracking available at this time. Q. I placed an order and the shipping rate was $500, what happened? A. We have created zip code zones where you have to call us to get the shipping rate. We will ship overseas FedEx, UPS, USPS, or a shipper of your choice, however, that rate will be added onto your order before it is processed. We ship to the contiguous US from Missouri, Florida, and New York warehouses. At present, if your order is over $400, in the contiguous US, your UPS ground rate will remain at the lowest flat rate. Alaska, Hawaii, and Canadian rates must be computed and will always have a shipping fee. Q: How can I view the status of my order? A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view. Q. How do I find a product to order for my bike. A. Click the Advanced Search link, insert the name or number in the block Enter Item Name or #:, press enter or click the search button. Q. What is the easy way to see what I am ordering until your site has completed construction? A. Click the V-Twin Catalog link. This will open the catalog in a new window or tab. On page 7 you can see the UPS shipping zones, save the file to your desktop to speed up searches and make the catalog available offline. Many parts have the OEM number that you can use to verify your part number for ordering, also all product pictures are included. Q. Is there an easy way to cross reference my OEM number to V-Twin part numbers? A. Click the XReference Link and this will open another PDF file in a new window or tab. Save this file to your desktop. There are two sets of columns, one is in OEM order and the other is in V-Twin part number order. Q. What is your stand on motorcycle saftey? A. Safety is job one, from the start when you put on your gear: boots, eye protection, DOT helmet, proper clothing, and an attitude that two fists in the wind with caution is my life. Click on my Safe Riding Blog and a new window or tab will open for the Annapolis Capital newspaper. You will find places to download information on riders safety courses and motorcycle safety manuals among other discussions about safe riding. The Capital newspaper is a good read too as it covers the Chesapeake Bay which has over 5000 miles of shoreline, the Naval Academy, and the listings of local restuarants in the area in case you plan on a tour to DC and Maryland. "Ride to the wall and remember"! There are great rides in the bay area, and the twisties are here too if you know where to go.
